Monkey Bread

Serves 4. 

Ingredients:

  • 6 oz butter, unsalted

  • 1 cup dark brown sugar

  • 3/4 cup coconut flakes, sweetened

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 can pull-apart biscuits

  • 1/4 cup bittersweet chocolate morsels

  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped

PROCEDURE:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Place the butter and brown sugar in a medium sized bowl and heat in the microwave for 90 seconds or until the butter is melted. Whisk to combine.

  3. In a medium sized bowl, combine the coconut, cinnamon, and granulated sugar.

  4. Cut the biscuits into quarters and place into the medium sized bowl with the sugar mixture.

  5. Toss in the chocolate and walnuts and place the mixture into the greased 2.6QT Cast Iron Casserole. Pour the melted butter and brown sugar mixture over and around the monkey bread.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before flipping out onto a plate. Serve warm.
