Hibiscus Iced Tea

Serves 8

Ingredients:

  • 8 hibiscus tea bags, or 1-ounce loose hibiscus leaves in a sachet for steeping loose tea leaves 1⁄4 cup honey, plus more to taste 

  • 4 cups boiling water

  • 1⁄4 cup fresh mint leaves

  • Ice cubes 

  • Dried hibiscus flowers, for garnish 

Helpful Tools:

Heatproof pitcher 

PROCEDURE:

  1. In a large heatproof pitcher, combine the hibiscus tea bags or sachet, honey, and boiling water. Let steep for 1 hour at room temperature. 

  2. Remove the tea bags and refrigerate the tea for 1 hour, or until chilled. 

  3. Stir in the mint. Pour the hibiscus tea into ice-filled glasses, garnish with dried hibiscus flowers, and serve.
